9:00 to 9:30 check-in and boats assignments
9:30 - 12:00 Regatta starts...
12:00 - 13:00 Lunch break and preliminary results
13:00 - 18:00 Regatta continues...
18:00 End of the race
18:30 to 21:30 Dinner reception at the Sailing Pavilion (music, food and fun!) immediately after the race.



ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
  • The MIT-Total Regatta is open to all MIT students who submit a complete Entry Form.

FEES
  • This event is free but continued contributions to the sailing pavilion are strongly encouraged.

VENUE

Racing will be conducted from the MIT Sailing Pavilion on the Charles River lower basin. Parking is available on Memorial Drive westbound, the lower end of Ames Street or the Hayward Street MIT parking lot. Bring a bailing bucket, tell tales, water bottle, sun screen and a good attitude.

SCORING and FORMAT
  • Scoring will be the Low Point System by team, with no discard races. Byes may be implemented if we are oversubscribed.
  • The Total-MIT Regatta will be the sum of all races sailed during the day. The Total Reggata Winning Team will be declared at the conclusion of the racing.
  • All races will be sailed using the MIT Sailing Pavilion fleet of Tech Dinghies.
SAFETY

All competitors shall wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved PFD at all times while on the water. There are plenty available at the pavilion.

DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
